Policy support activities focus on providing context – through research and data collection – for the implementation of the DFI commitments. Grounded in a rigorous research and policy analysis, this pillar also offers insights that will regularly feed into the public internet governance debates, including the Global Digital Compact, WSIS+20, and the Summit of the Future.

Deliverables under this pillar include:

• Initial public report explaining the DFI and an initial list of good practices and lessons from the signatory countries.
• Issue briefs focused specifically on critical topics and challenges under each of the DFI principles.
• Regional reports providing overview of the main developments, key issues, good practices and lessons related to DFI in different regions: Africa, LATAM, MENA, Europe, Asia Pacific.
