About the project
GIFI is an EU-funded multi-stakeholder project established to promote the Open Internet and the Declaration for the Future of the Internet (DFI) and support the implementation of its principles in a collaborative and rights-based approach.
To achieve this goal, GIFI will:
- Promote the Open Internet and the DFI and the upholding of its specific commitments globally.
- Support the translation of these commitments into concrete policies and actions, including by identifying and promoting existing best practices, through engagement of the multistakeholder community,
- Mainstream the promotion and implementation of the Open Internet and the DFI principles through EU diplomatic actions.
The GIFI project aims to contribute to promoting the Declaration for the Future of the Internet (DFI) and supporting the implementation of its principles, in a multi-stakeholder and rights-based approach. The project is structured around three key pillars: Policy Support, Multistakeholder Dialogue, and Outreach activities. These pillars target carefully selected groups and are enhanced by peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and active engagement, ensuring a comprehensive and collaborative effort to promote the DFI’s vision.
