This workshop brought together a group of both young and established scholars to examine how the EU and European countries have responded to China’s economic, political, and military rise over the past two decades. Speakers explored policy areas in which there has been a convergence of perspectives and policies between the EU and China, and issues on which there continues to be disagreement and discord. Individual panels have been devoted to exploring the security, economic, political and ideological dimensions of EU-China relations.
