The European Trade Study Group (ETSG) is a forum for applied research on international trade and investment. The annual meeting is the largest conference on international trade in the world – in this year’s event 320 papers will be presented, selected from a total of 530 submissions. Subjects covered include analysis of the political economy of trade policy; impacts of trade agreements and foreign direct investment; the activities of multinational enterprises; drivers of trade in services and the role of economic geography.
ETSG brings together university-based scholars and analysts affiliated with research institutes and international organizations. The ETSG is the premier forum for applied international economists to interact and present current research. One objective is to promote the research of young economists working in the field of international trade.
The ETSG annual conference on international trade is hosted by a different European institution each year; this year the conference is co-hosted and will be held at the University of Florence (14-15 September) and at the European University Institute (16 September).
The conference is by invitation only.
