Policy research and advisory activities

The GGP has an active programme of advisory activities and applied research that is centred on issues that are relevant for developing countries. These activities comprise tailor-made training, both on the EUI premises and in other locations that are more appropriate for the client, and advisory work for international organisations and development agencies. These activities build directly on the research carried out by the Global Economics: Trade, Development and Investment research team.

• 2022-2023: The digital trade policy environment in Latin America and the Caribbean. Report for the UN-ECLAC.
• 2022-current: Extending the Digital Trade Integration dataset. Collaborative research with the Asian Development Bank, the Digital Cooperation Organization, the UN-ECA, the UN-ESCAP, the UN-ECLAC, and the US Department of Commerce.
• 2024-current: Assessing the digital trade rules in Rwanda and Uganda. Project for the International Growth Centre and Teesside University.
• 2024-current: Digital Economy Agreements Leadership (DEAL) Depository. Policy research and advisory initiative within the ASEAN Digital Economy Agreement Leadership (ASEAN DEAL) Project. Project for the Asean-Korea Cooperation Fund, ASEAN, and WEF.
