Join this roundtable where the relationship between war and intimacy is explored through an interdisciplinary outlook.
This event explores intimacy as a methodological approach to the study of war and violence. Bringing together scholars from political science, international relations, history, and feminist theory, the discussion takes an interdisciplinary outlook on how intimacy is and has been affected by war and violent domination. It also considers how the intimate is mobilised, acted upon, and employed in the context of war. Addressing topics such as militarism in society, gender and sexuality, and the dynamics of closeness, distance, and remoteness in military violence, the roundtable collectively advances the study of the relationship between war and intimacy.
