Interdisciplinary event where academics and practitioners will explore the complex system governing the movement of people across borders.

The conference is jointly convened by the EUI’s Migration Policy Centre (MPC) and the Global Citizenship Conservatory (GLOBALCIT).

The architecture of global human mobility comprises the interconnection of institutions, international treaties, regional and national laws and policies, and infrastructure that, together, form the complex system governing the movement of people across borders. Bringing insights from a variety of disciplinary, methodological, and empirical perspectives, this conference aims to discuss the frameworks that govern the international movement of people, both contemporary and historical. Presentations will range from the enablers and constraints on international human mobility, including citizenship laws, bilateral agreements, free movement regimes, visa policies and travel restrictions, border controls, technologies used to regulate migration, and welfare provision in both home and host states.

Registrations opening soon.
