Philippe Van Parijs is a professor at the University of Louvain (Hoover Chair of Economic and Social Ethics), a special guest professor at the University of Leuven and an associate member of Nuffield College, Oxford. He is one of the founders of the Basic Income Earth Network and chairs its International Board. He is the coordinator of the Marnix Plan for a Multilingual Brussels and (with Paul De Grauwe) of the Re-Bel initiative (“Rethinking Belgium’s institutions in the European context”). His books include Evolutionary Explanation in the Social Sciences (1981), Qu’est-ce qu’une société juste? (1991), Real Freedom for All (1995), What’s Wrong with a Free Lunch? (2001), Just Democracy.
