The Object and Methodology of Global Governance
The workshop gathers a group of distinguished scholars whose research explores the economics, legal, philosophical, political, and sociological aspects of governance and its globalisation. The aim is to discuss the new research and policy agenda on the matter. In particular the discussion focus is on the specificity of global governance issues and the challenges it raises for the current theories of governance, and more generally for the established disciplines that study governance, whose foundations might be questioned by the observed phenomena, or whose methodology should be revised. The emerging analytical frameworks, and the challenges to be overcome to make progress towards more informed analyses of innovations and trends are to be discussed, as well. The aim is to establish the state of the art in this field and to identify research directions for the coming years.
