The Second Empirical Investigations in Services Trade (EIST) conference was an activity of the CEPR Trade Policy Research Network. It brought together research economists working on the analysis of the determinants of trade and investment in services and the impacts of services trade policies on economic performance. Papers spanned empirical analyses that had a macroeconomic focus as well as analysis focusing on the effects of sectoral policy and regulation, trade and investment agreements and the role of services in value chains, using firm- or industry level data. The conference included a keynote talk by J. Bradford Jensen (Georgetown University).
