Combatting trafficking in human beings requires efforts to reduce or indeed eliminate demand for goods and services produced by trafficked persons, whether food, clothes, or care work. Beyond traditional approaches focusing on the fight against criminal networks, more countries are exploring ways to tackle and influence the demand. In a keynote speech, Judge Maria Grazia Giammarinaro, UN Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons, discussed the challenges in addressing demand in the context of trafficking.

The seminar was organised under the auspices of the DemandAT project and in collaboration with the TRAFFICKO project.
